Roman weather has hot dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Autumn exhibits the heaviest rain of the year and can develop substantial thunderstorms. Flooding occurred every few to several years during antiquity, and significant floods which made the city navigable by boat for a few days have been recorded. Snow is technically possible during the winter but occurs so rarely as to not be modeled. Heat waves are possible during the summers.
Optional rules: Each year has a 1-in-4 chance of a heat wave lasting 2d4 days, during which the temperature is increased by one band. This can be placed randomly during the summer (d100 is appropriate). Flooding occurs after 2 consecutive days of heavy rain, increasing in severity with additional rain.
